Art & Fear

This section of the website is me offering myself my own words of wisdom in the form of a link I can click whenever I need courage.

I named it Art and Fear after an excellent book by David Bayles and Ted Orland, which offers the authors' personal insights into why art does and does not get created. What works? What doesn't work? Where does the motivation to keep working come from?

I suspect that anyone who has ever moonlighted on a pet project for an extended period (and gotten tired, or stuck, or frustrated) has their own unique "Art & Fear" bible that they too could write. What works? What doesn't work? Where does the motivation to keep working come from?

These are my answers, scribbled as I find time or find the need.
