There really is something special about character animation. These are the
Maya projects that got me hooked on CG.

Keychain
|
|
|
|
I did this piece for a Maya I class at the Corcoran College of Art & Design.
Later, I updated it with a dynamics simulation.
My original idea was simply that inanimate objects have a mind of their own. I
drew a little storyboard of a key breaking away from its keyring and hopping off
because this is how my keys behave in real life. I added the heart ornament later
on, because the background seemed a little drab. Then the heart suddenly became a
character too. (1/19/05)

Walk Cycle

|
This walk cycle was my first attempt at rigging a jointed character in Maya, and a warmup for
the airplane animation below. (4/25/05)

Airplane

This was my first deforming articulated figure. As with the keychain animation, the anthromopomorphic
nature of the piece made the rigging and animation both easier and harder.
It's still a work in progress, but I won't be turning back to Maya for another couple
months so I'm putting it up on my website for comments now. (5/28/05)
