Los Angeles, CA...

...is a far cry from what I expected.

I say this in a good way. I moved out here in 2005 after interviewing at the SIGGRAPH conference and accepting a job offer from Digital Domain sight unseen. My main impression of the city came from the Convention Center downtown with all its attendant traffic. So I arrived here fully prepared to hate it, but was instead pleasantly surprised by the Westside. The California culture feels like home. And when I want to, I can pretend that Hollywood and the Valley don't exist.

The links to the left were written while I was still living in Washington, DC. That was back when this website was still part of my promo package for breaking into the vfx industry, and my main goal was to come across as a real person rather than just another resume.
