As to whether writers live extraordinary lives and thus have something to write
about or whether they live ordinary lives which they see in an extraordinary way,
that, I suspect, is a chicken-and-the-egg question. I believe the ability to see
ordinary life in an extraordinary way tends to cause one, increasingly, to live
an extraordinary life.
